responsibly.

Awakening Earth ~ The website for Duane Elgin, author of Promise
Ahead and Voluntary Simplicity, offering links to books and videos
that address satisfying and sustainable living, the big picture of the
human journey, media accountability for an empowered citizenry,
as well as cosmology of living in a living universe.  

Community Solution ~ This Ohio organization’s mission is to teach
people about the value and benefits of small local community and
design solutions to the current unsustainable, fossil fuel-based,
industrialized, and centralized way of living. They hold an annual
“Peak Oil and Community Solutions” conference and recently
produced a film, The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived
Peak Oil.

Co-op America ~ This nonprofit's mission is to harness economic
power—the strength of consumers, investors, businesses, and the
marketplace—to create a socially just and environmentally
sustainable society.  They publish the National Green Pages™,
sponsor Green Festivals and Conferences around the country, and
act as the Simplicity Forum's fiscal sponsor.

Ethical Markets ~ The mission of Ethical Markets is to foster the
evolution of capitalism beyond current models based on
materialism, maximizing self-interest and profit, competition and
fear of scarcity; they have also produced the first TV financial
lifestyle magazine series reporting on new definitions of success.

Getting a Life ~ An array of information related to simplicity and
sustainability targeted toward the beginning simplicity practitioner
as well as long time simple livers.  The site includes the simplicity
philosophy of David Heitmiller and Jacque Blix, authors of the book
Getting a Life, as well as articles, book reviews and useful links
related to simpler and more sustainable lifestyles.

Green Heart Institute ~ This Boulder, Colorado based nonprofit
sponsors Community Initiatives, publishes the Green Heart Guide
and helps individuals and businesses "understand the global
impact of their choices, connect with their deepest values and live
sustainably from the heart."

Northwest Earth Institute ~ Their programs encourage participants
to explore their values, attitudes, and actions through self-facilitated
discussion groups on topics such as Voluntary Simplicity, Choices
for Sustainable Living, and Deep Ecology.

Share, Save, Spend ~ The goal of this organization is to help
people understand the relationship of money, values and habits in
today's hyper-consumer culture and, in turn, provide
resources/tools to assist them in achieving financial sanity.

Simple Living America ~ A nonprofit membership organization for
individuals, families and communities that fosters balance and
fulfillment in a complex world.

Simple Living Network ~ This website provides resources, tools,
contacts and examples for conscious, simple, healthy and
restorative living.

Simple Living SF South Bay/Peninsula ~ This online community
serves as a local simplicity support network and information
clearinghouse for its 150+ members who want to connect with
each other in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula.

Simplicity Matters Earth Institute ~ This Maryland-based nonprofit
organizes and provides the resources for discussion circles on a
variety of topics including Voluntary Simplicity, Choices for
Sustainable Living, and Your Money or Your Life, among others.

Simplicity Resource Guide ~ This website if full of resources
related to Voluntary Simplicity and was developed by Linda Breen
Pierce, founder of The Pierce Simplicity Study and author of the
books, Choosing Simplicity: Real People Finding Peace and
Fulfillment in a Complex World and Simplicity Lessons: A 12-Step
